As the last days of capitalism grow ever more imminent, so too do the extremes of suffering and devastation it wreaks grow further beyond our imagination. Working class and poor people are waking up from the American Nightmare ready to fight for something better. Everyone now realizes that there is something radically wrong with the social system under which we are living. Everyone, except the beneficiaries of this twisted system, agrees that something ought to be done about it. The General Strike is coming.

A General Strike is a strike involving workers across multiple trades or industries. Workers and consumers come together to refuse work and commerce. In essence, a General Strike is the complete and total shutdown of the economy. It is a message to our class enemies that their rule is no longer unchallenged and an indication of what awaits. A General Strike can last for a day, a week, or longer depending on the severity of the crisis, the resolve of the strikers, and the extent of public solidarity.

You’ve suffered insults and contempt at the hands of your bosses. You’ve been forced to work daily, and they get rich off your labor. You’ve been mistreated and exploited, yet every morning you wake up with a little less. There IS an alternative. We invite all those who live under the heel of the state and capitalism—workers, precarious workers, the unemployed, undocumented immigrants, students, families of these persons…THE 99%—to join.

The General Strike is an opportunity to directly stand up against what you feel is wrong. It’s an opportunity to meet and connect with others who want to improve the world for themselves and for the people they love. It’s an opportunity to FIGHT BACK!

The General Strike begins this May Day. Call into work. Skip school. Plan with your neighbors and friends how you can meet your collective and individual needs. We can organize, produce, and live without wage slavery. You don’t need your boss, he needs you!
